The major power outage of 2015: 5 lessons for grid operators

On 27 March 2015, the power failed in large parts of Noord-Holland and part of Flevoland. More than a million households were without electricity, the largest power outage ever in the Netherlands. Trains came to a standstill, Schiphol cancelled flights and hospitals ran on emergency power. Above all, the outage exposed how strongly our society is interconnected.
